It seems people are linking to this page and saying that, since Firefox has 37% and every other browser is below that percentage, Firefox is now the most popular browser and has won the browser war.

I'm all for Firefox taking over and beating IE for most popular browser, but I'm not about to lie to people about it. IE 6 and IE 7 have to be counted as the same browser, mainly because it's the same class of people: those that use the default browser installed on their OS. There's also a group of people in there that like that browser, but all the IE 6 users will eventually be IE 7 users in the near future. That equals 52% of web users using IE browsers (March 2008), which means that it's still the leading browser out there today.
