New GeekTool Scripts: GeekTool Minutiae

I've been hoarding this little gem of a post for a while now, but now I feel that all should bask in it's glory. This forum post over at Ambrosia Software shows three different GeekTool scripts for your geeky pleasure:

  1. Uptime stats for your computer. I have this little gem showing at the bottom left of my screen, always showing that my little computer hasn't been restarted in well over a month. Except when there's a security update. Damn you Apple!
  2. Top on the desktop. Shows your top 12 (or whatever) process on your machine. I currently don't have this one running as I usually don't care about this and the script take up too much room. I might rework it to show more of what I want though.
  3. IP address of all of your network connections. Rock on. This one shows your internal IP, your external IP and what interfaces are active. Very nice.

If I happen to mess with any of these in the future, I'll be sure to let you know.

  • Got this one?? Disk info script:

    --------------
    #PRINT MAIN DISK USAGE INFO
    df -h | grep disk0s3 | awk '{print "Disk:", $3, "/", $2, "-", $4, "available"}'

    exit 0
    --------------

You may need to change the "disk0s3" to another device. Try typing 'df' at your terminal to figure out what it should be, if this doesn't work.
